Sidley is representing Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: CALM), the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the United States, in its US$258 million acquisition of Echo Lake Foods, a frozen food manufacturer of ready-to-eat egg products and other breakfast foods. The acquisition allows Cal-Maine to diversify and expand its portfolio and customer mix, and the product lines and capabilities of the two companies are highly complementary.
