RYAN MARTIN focuses his practice on employment-related advice and counsel for a wide array of issues, including mergers and acquisitions (both buy-side and sell-side), employment policies, protection of proprietary information, labor-management relations, and reductions in force. He works closely with clients in conducting third-party investigations involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and violation of workplace policies. Ryan represents employers to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Ryan earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he was a notes and comments editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review and won numerous accolades as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.
Before joining Sidley, Ryan worked as a judicial extern at the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County for the Honorable Allen P. Walker.
Ryan earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Northwestern University, where he studied theatre.
