Jonathan Lafferty, a senior managing associate in Sidley’s London office, has been honored as one of the winners at The Law Society’s inaugural Legal Heroes awards. The awards recognize the standout individuals who represent “what it means to embody the values of a solicitor” and “who have made the biggest difference to the lives of others.”
Jonathan is a member of the firm’s London Pro Bono Committee and appears as an advocate for individuals at the Asylum Support Appeals Tribunal and in the Family Court. He has given advice to individuals on a pro bono basis at various legal clinics. The Law Society has recognized Jonathan’s pro bono work with the Free Family Representation and Advocacy Project, a charity that assists litigants in person in the Family Court in private children proceedings, noting that “Jonathan has repeatedly put himself on the front line to defend those who, without his help, would not be able to access proper legal support.”
