JASON COMER counsels clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including company and asset portfolio acquisitions, commercial lending transactions, and other corporate matters. A substantial area of Jason’s practice is devoted to representing capital sources and various providers of products or services in forming joint ventures and strategic alliances to pursue new business opportunities.
Jason also focuses his practice on a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, mortgage and mezzanine loan originations and restructurings, complex joint venture transactions, and preferred equity investments. Jason regularly represents institutional investors, private equity funds, closely held real estate companies and developers in connection with matters involving a variety of multifamily, hotel and hospitality, office, retail and industrial assets. He has handled transactions involving properties located throughout the United States, as well as Europe, South America, Asia, and the Caribbean. In addition, Jason has advised major financial institutions and owners in numerous significant workout, bankruptcy, and restructuring matters.
Jason has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine on numerous occasions for both the Florida and New York regions. Jason previously served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar, Young Lawyers Division, and has served as an adjunct professor at Tulane Law School.
Before joining Sidley, Jason was a partner at another large law firm, prior to which he served as general counsel and senior vice president of a real estate private equity firm, where he oversaw the acquisition, disposition, ownership, and repositioning of real estate properties of various asset classes and related debt and equity positions.
