ROB ABRAMS focuses his practice on environmental compliance and advising clients in matters related to environmental litigation, federal agency investigations and enforcement actions, and environmental incident response (e.g. chemical spills). Rob has years of experience with enforcement of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). He also works on issues that implicate a wide range of other environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) at the federal level, as well as numerous state regulations such as those issued by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Rob has helped clients with issues ranging from refineries complying with their CAA Title V permits and aftermarket parts companies adhering to EPA and CARB regulations, to offshore wind energy developers navigating the extensive permitting process and defending against lawsuits.
Prior to joining the firm, Rob worked as an attorney advisor at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he assisted EPA regions with CERCLA enforcement and remediation, including the investigation of potential violations, compliance monitoring, CERCLA 107(d) Good Samaritan projects, remining agreements, CERCLA removal actions, and lead poisoning prevention.
Rob graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School where he served as articles editor of the Environmental Law & Policy Annual Law Review, and received the “Scholastic Excellence Award” for graduating at the top of his class in international environmental law. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Wheaton College.
