Danica Brown, a New York-based managing associate in the firm’s Litigation group, has been presented with the 20th Annual John K. Geiger Award by Her Justice at the 2023 Commitment to Justice Awards. This award was established in 2002 in memory of John K. Geiger, who volunteered at Her Justice for many years. The award is given annually to attorneys “whose unyielding compassion and dedication toward their clients is truly outstanding.”
Her Justice assists women living in poverty in New York City by recruiting and mentoring volunteer lawyers to provide free legal services to address individual and systemic legal barriers. Through their pro bono first model, they pair thousands of well-trained and resourced, pro bono attorneys with women who have legal needs in the areas of family, matrimonial, and immigration law. Each year, Her Justice celebrates the New York City legal community’s commitment to volunteerism, highlighting the very real impact legal relief can have for New York City families.

Her litigation experience includes all aspects of pleadings, discovery, and trial. Danica also has experience advising clients on litigation pending or threatened simultaneously in the United States and abroad. She currently serves on the Junior Advisory Board for Her Justice.
