Sidley partner Dan Clivner has been honored with the 2022 “Honorable John E. Sprizzo Award” by St. John's University School of Law. The award is presented to noteworthy alumni for their contributions to the law as well as their communities.
Law School Dean Michael Simons presented Dan the award at the annual Law Review Alumni Reception. Dean Simons lauded Dan as, "a wonderfully fitting honoree because he is the consummate role model for our students. In every aspect of his career — his outstanding work as a transactional lawyer, his global leadership for Sidley, his steadfast support for pro bono causes, his dedication to LGBTQ equality, and his generous willingness to pay it forward — he exemplifies what it means to live a life of service in the law. So many people, including many St. John’s students, have had their lives enriched by Dan’s generosity and care."
Dan is a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee and the managing partner of the greater Los Angeles offices. He is a global co-leader of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity group. Dan handles high-profile transactional matters for clients in the media and entertainment, telecom, technology, financial services, and retail industries.
