Biography

SARA DURAN focuses her practice on complex corporate and transactional matters, including representing private equity sponsors and public and private companies in connection with leveraged buyouts, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, joint ventures, and other corporate matters. In addition to her transactional work, Sara also advises clients with respect to a broad range of corporate and securities law matters, including general corporate governance matters, fiduciary duties, and SEC reporting and disclosure issues. Sara has represented clients across a wide range of industries, such as industrials, technology, healthcare technology, financial services, business services, engineering, and consumer retail. 

Sara’s range, experience, and results have earned her significant recognition, including being named to The Deal’s “Women in Dealmaking” for M&A (2022 and 2023). She has also been recognized as a “Top Latino Lawyer” by Latino Leaders Magazine (2020–2022). Sara was selected by D Magazine as one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” (2017, 2019–2025) and recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in Corporate Law (2018–2022, 2026). 

Sara serves as a member of the investment committee of the Texas Women’s Foundation and is a former member of the board of directors of the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Additionally, she was named a 2016 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow.

Sara holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she graduated with honors, and a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she graduated magna cum laude.
