Sidley is pleased to welcome Amir Freund as counsel in the global Intellectual Property Litigation practice in the firm’s Palo Alto office. Amir’s practice focuses on patent infringement and trade secret litigation involving high-tech hardware and software technology, such as computer networking, telecommunications devices, semiconductors, integrated circuit design, memory circuits, fabrication processes, e-commerce, and digital radio devices. Amir is experienced in litigating cases in district courts, before the International Trade Commission, and in inter partes review proceedings before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Amir’s addition deepens the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice in Northern California, adding bench strength to our trial teams and technical knowledge in areas of software, telecommunications, e-commerce, and semiconductor design. “Amir’s integrity, trial experience, professionalism, and technical know-how are an ideal fit,” says Mike Bettinger, who heads up Sidley’s West Coast IP Litigation practice.
In addition, Amir advises clients on IP-related issues including patent portfolio management, portfolio analysis for purposes of licensing and litigation, and litigation counseling in connection with corporate transactions.
Amir earned his LL.M. in Law, Science, and Technology from Stanford Law School in 2012, and received his LL.B from Haifa University, Israel, in 2007.
