Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs), also known as publicly traded partnerships or PTPs, are a critical component of the energy infrastructure in the United States. Entities organized as MLPs are engaged in various business enterprises, including pipeline and marine transportation, storage and terminaling, and other midstream activities, as well as exploration and production, and mining and refining.
Sidley represents MLPs in a variety of matters, including corporate, securities, M&A, finance, tax, litigation and other matters on an ongoing basis. In addition to having a number of transactional lawyers with capital markets, finance, M&A, projects and tax experience in MLP transactions, we have lawyers in our specialty practice areas, such as energy regulation, who regularly represent MLPs. This breadth of experience allows our firm to offer a full range of services to our MLP clients.
Our clients include MLPs, underwriters, placement/sales agents, sponsors, conflicts and special committees, financial advisors, and private equity funds.
