SUSAN STOLZER has more than 30 years of experience in the regulatory and compliance fields. As a member of the Food, Drug and Medical Device regulatory practice, Susan focuses on a broad range of FDA regulatory issues. In addition to strategic client counseling for food and drug clients, Susan provides due diligence reviews for life science companies and investment firms. Susan is also responsible for developing client training programs and for creating and maintaining a Knowledge Management system to ensure efficient use of resources in the Food, Drug and Medical Device practice group.
Prior to joining Sidley, Susan was a vice president and assistant general counsel at Pfizer, Inc. While there, Susan counseled multibillion-dollar global business units on commercial, regulatory, clinical, safety, labeling, policy and communication issues and strategies. In addition, she advised extensively on matters relating to advertising and promotion, drug samples, GMPs, importation, fraud and abuse and anti-kickback laws and other compliance issues. Susan provided strategic advice, including testimony and witness preparation, on Pfizer’s appearance at two Congressional Hearings.
While at Pfizer, Susan won the 2009 General Counsel Award, one of six Legal Division colleagues recognized annually for exceptional achievement and extraordinary contribution to Pfizer. Susan was selected to help manage and foster Pfizer’s outside counsel convergence program. In addition, Susan developed the Junior Associate Program, managed the Legal Intern Program and was a founding member of the Women’s Network Steering Committee.
Susan also served as the chief compliance officer for WNET, New York’s premier public television station. As chief compliance officer, Susan created the compliance function at WNET, developing policies, procedures and training programs for the organization. She was also an associate at another global law firm.
