NISHA JAIN represents clients in a wide variety of complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance, joint ventures, private equity investments, offtake, trading, and hedging transactions and collateral arrangements for conventional and renewable electricity, environmental attributes, carbon credits, natural gas, and other commodities.
Nisha has broad experience in energy transition and traditional energy matters, including biofuels; solar; wind; carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS); waste to energy; specialty chemicals; and traditional oil, gas, and power. Nisha’s practical approach to client matters focuses on managing risk while efficiently advancing client interests to maximize transactional outcomes. Nisha has completed over US$20 billion in energy transactions.
Nisha is passionate about maintaining a robust pro bono practice, and has represented clients in SAPCR proceedings in connection with asylum cases. She also values community engagement, and served as Vice President of Membership on the board of the Cornell Alumni Association of Greater Houston during her time in Texas.
Nisha earned her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. While in law school, Nisha served on the editorial board for the Virginia Tax Review. Nisha received her B.A. from Cornell University.
