GREG JACOBS focuses his practice on commercial litigation and disputes, which includes representing clients in real estate litigation, contract litigation, energy financing disputes, and business torts. Greg has also advised clients on litigation concerns related to financial products, and state and federal regulatory compliance issues. Greg represents clients at all stages of litigation, and has experience working on interdisciplinary, cross-office, and multi-firm trial and arbitration teams.
Greg received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal and competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. At the Jessup 2019 International Rounds, Greg was named a Top 15 Oralist from a field of 124 international teams.
Prior to law school, Greg worked as a policy advocate in Washington, D.C., where he advised clients on legislative and regulatory issues related to international trade, defense, transportation, and other industries. Greg also worked as the operations director for a successful Congressional campaign.
Prior to joining Sidley, Greg served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Denny Chin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Victor A. Bolden of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Greg is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and served three tours of duty overseas as an infantryman.
