LAURA HERRERA focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and white collar criminal defense and investigations. She maintains an active pro bono practice with a focus on protecting the rights of immigrants.
Prior to joining Sidley, Laura participated in Sidley’s summer associate program in 2020 and served as a legal intern with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in 2019. She graduated from The University of Chicago Law School, where she worked as a student attorney on a lawsuit that recently achieved one of Chicago’s largest settlements for wrongly convicted persons. Laura graduated with an A.B. in government from Harvard College.
Before attending law school, Laura worked with Teach For America as a middle and high school social studies teacher.
