JOHN CUPIT focuses his practice on representing borrowers and lenders across industries in a variety of credit transactions ranging from unsecured syndicated facilities and energy project financing to fund financings, asset-based lending revolving lines of credit, and first lien/second lien secured acquisition financings. His industry experience includes oil and gas, healthcare, renewable energy, food and beverage, and private equity, among others.
Prior to joining Sidley, John earned his J.D. from Tulane University School of law, magna cum laude, and was a recipient of the “Judge Jacques L. Wiener, Jr. Family Fund for Legal Excellence” award. While attending law school, he served as the articles editor for the Tulane Law Review and worked with a national private equity firm primarily focused on solar energy financings.
John received his B.S. in biochemistry, with honors, from Butler University, where he was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Bulldogs football team.
