GISELLE BARTH is a partner in the Global Finance group in Sidley’s New York office. Giselle’s practice focuses on structured finance, including securitizations and asset-based financing. Giselle represents issuers, sponsors and underwriters in single family rental (single-asset and multi-borrower) and “ibuyer” securitizations, as well as direct issuance structures. Her practice also includes traditional asset classes such as ABS (auto loan and lease and equipment) and mortgage-backed securitizations (RMBS and CMBS) and CRE CLOs. Giselle has experience with a variety of asset-based lending arrangements and repurchase agreements, in multiple asset classes, including single-family rental, “ibuyer” and bonds. She advises credit opportunity funds and other investors in distressed and other structured finance transactions, particularly with respect to rights and remedies under the related transaction documents. She also advises clients on new and proposed legislative and regulatory changes.

- Representing placement agents and VFN lender on first SFR direct issuance securitization
Giselle speaks at industry conferences and continuing legal education programs on topics relating to structured finance and has authored numerous client updates on legislative and regulatory reforms and proposals. She has been recognized for her work in Capital Markets: Securitization in Chambers Global (2018–2024) and Chambers USA (2012–2024).
