KELECHI ADIBE represents and advises commercial banks, direct lending funds, investment banks, private equity and financial sponsors, hedge funds, insurance companies, and public and private companies. Kelechi’s practice includes senior secured and unsecured credit facilities, first lien and second lien financings, acquisition financings, cash-flow and asset-based facilities, cross-border financings, syndicated and bi-lateral financings, unitranche financings, as well as work-outs, restructurings and other distressed financings. His work spans a wide range of financial markets and deal sizes, from middle market financings to investment grade and large corporate borrower financings.
Kelechi graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his B.A. in Economics (with high honors) and Political Science from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction.
Kelechi was recognized as a leading lawyer in the 2022–2025 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the area of Banking and Finance Law.
Firm Leadership
Kelechi is actively involved in the firm’s recruiting efforts both on and off campus and currently serves on Sidley’s Chicago Summer Associate Program Committee. He also continually contributes to several firm-sponsored diversity initiatives, including the Sidley Prelaw Scholars Program, the Sidley 1L Diversity Mentorship Program and other pipeline programs.
