Bloomberg also ranked Sidley as the No. 1 defense law firm in the Value of the Activist Stake category with US$7.3 billion, which aggregates the activist stakes in companies represented by Sidley. Additionally, Sidley was ranked as the No. 1 defense law firm in the Consumer Discretionary, Financials, Investment Fund, and Real Estate industry sectors.

Bloomberg’s rankings follow Sidley’s recent receipt of the “Activism Advisor Award” by Diligent Market Intelligence for Total Issuer Representations, which recognizes the law firm that advised companies on the most activist campaigns in 2023. Sidley was also ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for Corporate/M&A: Takeover Defense, and in Tier 1 by The Legal 500 United States for Shareholder Activism – Advice to Boards. The Deal named Sidley “Activism Defense Law Firm of the Year (Large Cap)” for the past two years.
