The Swiss Arbitration Centre has announced the appointment of Sidley partner Tanya Landon as a member of its Arbitration Court for a three-year term, effective January 2024.
The Swiss Arbitration Centre is one of the world’s leading independent providers of arbitration and mediation services. The Centre is well known for its Swiss Rules of International Arbitration, which may be adopted for any dispute, regardless of its nature, the nationality of the parties, the place of arbitration, or the applicable law.
Tanya has nearly two decades of experience in international dispute resolution and focuses her practice on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. She acts as counsel and arbitrator in a wide range of disputes before the major arbitral institutions, involving: investment law; general contract law; shareholder and joint venture agreements; construction contracts; international sales contracts and supply agreements; and licensing and distribution agreements, including those between life sciences, healthcare, and medical device companies and their partners. Her practice also includes state-to-state disputes and complex cross-border litigation. Tanya is highly recommended by clients for her outstanding work in the field and is praised by peers as “an excellent cross-examiner.” A Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Tanya is regularly asked to speak on topics of international arbitration, and teaches a legal writing seminar at the prestigious MIDS LL.M. program in Geneva. She is fluent in English and French.
Tanya is the latest Sidley partner appointed to an esteemed international arbitration body, following David Roney’s nine-year tenure as a member of the Arbitration Court. David has more than 30 years of experience as an advocate in a broad range of complex international disputes around the world, and is the global co-head of Sidley’s Global Arbitration, Trade and Advocacy practice.
This appointment showcases the high regard for Sidley’s global arbitration practitioners and their role in the Swiss market.
