Sidley is representing Monarch Collective, an investment fund focused exclusively on women’s professional sports. The new US$100 million fund will make investments in women’s sports teams, leagues, and related revenue streams, such as licensing and media.
Monarch Collective was founded by Kara Nortman, a co-founder of Angel City FC (the National Women’s Soccer League’s Los Angeles-based club), and Jasmine Robinson, a former Causeway partner who previously worked with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Sidley team is being led by Entertainment, Sports and Media (ESM) partners Eric Geffner and Charles (Chuck) Baker, who is also an ESM co-chair. The deal team also includes ESM managing associate Luisa Lizoain.
