Houston – Sidley is pleased to announce that Stephen M. Boone Jr. has joined the Houston office as a partner in the firm’s Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure group. He joins Sidley from Akin Gump, where he led the U.S. oil and gas practice.
Mr. Boone advises a broad range of public and private companies and investment funds, including those investing in the exploration, production, and transportation of oil and gas. He is board certified in oil, gas, and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Prior to entering the legal field, Mr. Boone worked for a major engineering and construction firm in its petrochemical projects area, including on-site at one of the largest oil refineries in the United States.
“Stephen brings strong industry knowledge and significant corporate experience in both the upstream and midstream sectors that adds to our comprehensive capabilities in these areas,” said Cliff Vrielink, global leader of the Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure practice, co-managing partner of the Houston office, and a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “His understanding of the legal complexities and commercial underpinnings of these industry sectors will help us continue to guide clients in the energy space. He joins a global practice group of over 150 lawyers dedicated to the energy industry around the world.”
“Our Houston office has become a destination platform, and as a global firm, we are able to offer clients a broad range of top-level corporate and regulatory advice that goes beyond many of our peers.
