On January 15, Sidley Partner Lara Thyagarajan will participate in a panel on “Securities Products Fundamentals” at the PLI’s two-day conference on Understanding Financial Products 2025. Lara and her co-panelists will explore structuring techniques and transaction features. Participants will be able to:
- Better understand the status of traditional and new asset classes in the securities markets
- Explore the jurisdiction of the SEC and the role of self-regulatory organizations (SROs) over securities and securities market participants, including exemptions from registration as a broker dealer
- Unpack mainstream capital markets transactions, from initial public offerings (IPOs) to special purpose acquisition vehicles (SPACs) and beyond
- Gain insight into the current state of the structured finance market, including structuring techniques and transaction features
- Extrapolate lessons from recent regulatory and legislative developments
During the two-day conference, a faculty of experienced attorneys will discuss various kinds of financial products, their individual structures and uses, and the impacts of recent regulatory developments. This comprehensive program is especially helpful for those needing a primer on dealing with the more common financial investment products in the marketplace today. In addition to exploring individual financial products, there will be an in-depth assessment of what client priorities will look like in 2025.
