MELISSA YRASTORZA focuses her practice on white collar defense and investigations, complex commercial litigation, and international commercial arbitration. She also has experience advising clients on international public law issues and compliance. She has represented clients across a range of industries, including banking and finance, construction, oil and gas, telecommunications, and biopharmaceuticals.
Melissa earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was the senior articles editor for the Berkeley Business Law Journal. While in law school, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in International Organizations and was also awarded the Prosser Prize in Negotiations. Prior to law school, Melissa earned her M.Sc. in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and her B.A. in Global Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Sidley, Melissa worked as an associate at another international law firm.
