Sidley’s Tanaan Quek, a managing associate in the Banking and Financial Services group in the London office, won the “Rising Star” award at the Society of Asian Lawyers Asian Legal Awards 2022. The annual awards celebrate lawyers who regularly go above and beyond for their clients.
Tanaan’s focus is on advising multinational financial institutions on EU and UK financial services regulatory issues and in particular, clients active in the payment services sector. He has experience in advising FinTech clients on structuring their operations, and also on the various regulatory authorization, systems and controls, conduct of business, and reporting requirements under the Financial Conduct Authority’s rules. Outside of his practice, Tanaan also participates in diversity initiatives within and outside Sidley, notably a mentorship program partnering with senior individuals at a global payment services enterprise in the U.S.
