The WIP networking group is for data protection and privacy professionals and aims to provide a platform for high-level discussion of data protection and privacy law developments, to facilitate and strengthen networking among female privacy professionals, and to mentor and promote the advancement of women in the field.
Claudia Berg is the General Counsel for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). She is responsible for overseeing the legal work of the ICO and providing legal advice to the Commissioner, executive team, and management board. Claudia joined the ICO in April 2021 from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), where she was responsible for the legal oversight of the CMA’s entire competition law enforcement portfolio, from the launch of an investigation through to decision and subsequent litigation before the courts. Prior to her work at the CMA, Claudia worked at Linklaters, London, for eight years, advising clients on all aspects of EU and UK competition law. Claudia is a dual-qualified solicitor in England & Wales and Germany.
