A lack of resources to attend costly LSAT or GRE preparation classes and to fund expensive admissions applications is a significant factor in hindering application to law school. The Sidley Prelaw Scholars Program aims to remove barriers to law school and the legal profession by subsidizing LSAT or GRE preparatory course and law school application expenses of high-performing college students who have difficulty paying the expenses associated with applying to law school.

“The Sidley Prelaw Scholars Program not only provides tools and resources to help with the transition to law school, but it also provides a network of like-minded students that understand everything you are going through. Both during and after law school, the other scholars serve as support, sources of advice and, most importantly, friends.”
Staci C. Alexander, Sidley Scholar

Sidley will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis, but certain benefits of the program may not be made available to such student. For example, Scholars who do not attend the entire Summer Seminar will not receive the second installment of their scholarship award. All such decisions are at Sidley’s sole discretion.
