XI ZHAO focuses her practice on corporate and securities law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, shareholder activism, and capital markets transactions.
Xi received her J.D. degree from Cornell Law School. While attending Cornell, Xi served as an editor of the International Law Journal. She also served as a research assistant for the Legal Information Institute (LII) while there. Xi received her LL.B degree from China Foreign Affairs University, where she also received a B.A. degree in English and International Relations. Xi graduated at the top 5% for both of her majors.
Prior to joining Sidley, Xi worked at a distinguished law firm in China, where she helped tech companies in their early-stage securities offerings.
Xi is fluent in both English and Chinese.
