Biography
DANIEL WAGNER works on a broad range of contentious matters covering complex commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and internal investigations.
Daniel trained and qualified as a solicitor in Sidley’s London office, where he also gained experience in the firm’s Global Finance, Restructuring, and Antitrust and Competition practices.
Experience
Representative Matters
Daniel's recent matters include acting for:
- Tecnicas Reunidas in a novel and significant victory before the High Court, which set aside an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration award on jurisdictional grounds under section 67 of the Arbitration Act 1996.
- The defendant in a £110 million unlawful preference claim brought by a liquidator in the English High Court and Court of Appeal.
- The defendant to a breach of contract claim for more than US$200 million in the English Commercial Court.
Community Involvement
Pro Bono
Daniel undertook a three- month Pro Bono Fellowship at Not Beyond Redemption from September to December 2023. Daniel continues to volunteer for Not Beyond Redemption and has successfully represented clients, on a pro bono basis, at hearings in family courts to improve the level of contact that clients have with their children.
He has also volunteered for the Free Family Representation & Advocacy Project, where he provides pro bono legal advice and representation to individuals in hearings at the Central Family Court concerning child arrangement orders.
Daniel cycled the Sidley London Revolution in October 2022 as part of the Sidley team fundraising for YMCA.
