Biography

JESSICA LAMOUR represents clients on a wide range of transactional matters including M&A, finance, and development, with a focus on entertainment and sports transactions. Her practice includes the representation of individuals, investors, and private companies in financing, co-developing, and co-producing films. She also has experience advising clients, including individuals, financial institutions, and local and state governments, in sports-anchored public-private partnerships for professional stadiums and related ancillary development. In 2025, Jessica’s work gained her recognition as one of the “Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers” by the National Black Lawyers.

Outside of the firm, Jessica serves on the Duke Law Alumni Association Board of Directors. She also serves as a teacher’s assistant for the University of Miami School of Law capstone course in Sports Law: Purchase and Sale of a Minor League Baseball Team.

Jessica earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she received the Dean’s Scholarship Award. At Duke Law, Jessica served as a teaching assistant for Sarah Bloom Raskin’s courses in Business Associations, Law & Financial Anxiety, and Climate Change & Financial Markets. She also served as the president of the Women of Color Collective, the internal vice president of the Black Law Student Association, competition coordinator for Duke Law’s Moot Court Board, and as a representative for Duke’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society.

During law school, Jessica summered with a leading global law firm and with the general counsel team of an international bank. She also practiced as a student attorney for Duke’s Wrongful Conviction Clinic and Duke’s Children’s Law Clinic, where her work contributed to several victories for her clients.

Prior to law school, Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts from Emory University at age 20. During her undergraduate career, she was awarded the “Mayor’s Shining Scholar: Pursuer of Excellence Award.”

Jessica is fluent in English and Haitian Creole.

Entertainment, Sports and Media

  • Represented The City of Jacksonville in connection with Jacksonville Jaguars stadium negotiations as well as related ancillary development around the stadium.
  • Represents Monumental Sports & Entertainment in all facets of the negotiations with multiple jurisdictions for a new or renovated arena and sports anchored development project.

General M&A and Private Equity

  • Representing Starwood Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: STWD) in its US$2.2 billion acquisition of Fundamental Income Properties, LLC.
  • Represents Friendly Professional Corporation owner in the formation of Healthcare Management Services Organizations.

Jessica maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented veterans seeking discharge upgrades and non-profit organizations with corporate governance matters.
