PEIYU YU focuses her practice on providing strategic business and legal advice to emerging and high-growth companies, and venture capital investors, particularly in the technology and life sciences sectors. She also advises public companies, multinational corporations, and strategic investors across a variety of industries.
Peiyu’s work with company-side clients encompasses a broad spectrum of corporate matters, including venture financings, corporate governance, equity compensation, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings. She also represents investors with diverse strategic goals — ranging from venture capital and growth-stage investors to corporate venture funds and sovereign wealth funds — and advises such investors on their initial investments, follow-on investments, and ongoing management of their portfolio companies.
With extensive experience supporting clients throughout the full life cycle of a business, Peiyu has developed a deep understanding of the evolving challenges companies and investors face at each stage of growth. This insight enables her to tailor her legal advice to meet clients' needs as they navigate dynamic market conditions and macroeconomic shifts.
During law school, Peiyu served as co-president of the China Law Association and communication director of the Environmental Law Society and was a fellow of the Illinois Public Interest Law Initiative. She was an active member of the Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program and Harvard Environmental Law Review. She is a member of the Telluride Association, a nonprofit organization that creates free educational programs for youth.
