KUNCHOK YAKLHA focuses her practice on corporate and securities law matters, representing underwriters and issuers in connection with a variety of SEC-registered and exempt transactions, including initial public offerings, common and preferred equity offerings, and debt offerings.
Prior to joining Sidley, she worked for an NGO in Geneva, Switzerland, and as a research assistant to the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers.
Kunchok received her LL.M. from Harvard Law School where she was a member of the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project providing pro bono legal research and analysis to entrepreneurs at Harvard and MIT. Kunchok received her J.D. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
She is currently on the junior board of Read Ahead, a non-profit that provides a reading-based mentorship program for elementary school students.
Kunchok is fluent in Tibetan and Hindi.
