FLOR VAN DEN HENDE advises on various aspects of EU competition law, including merger control, abuse of dominance, cartel investigations and state aid.
Prior to joining Sidley, Flor worked in the competition practice of two other leading international law firms and was a trainee at the European Commission within the Directorate-General for Competition, in the unit dealing with state aid in tax planning practices across sectors.
Flor studied at King’s College London and is admitted to practice in Brussels. He is proficient in English, Dutch and French.
Flor’s recent experience includes advising:
- Regal Rexnord Corporation, a global power transmission component manufacturer, in relation to merger control clearances in its US$4.95 billion acquisition of Altra Industrial Motions Corp.
- Viterra Limited, a global agricultural trading company, in its acquisition of the grain and ingredients business of Gavilon Agriculture Investment, Inc.
- Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: BOCN), a SPAC, on competition law aspects of its US$275 million business combination with TNL Mediagene.
- Matson, Driscoll & Damico, one of the largest specialist forensic accounting firms in the world, on merger control aspects of its acquisition by Davies.
