SIMONA SUH focuses her practice on representing companies and individuals in securities enforcement and regulatory matters.
In advising clients, Simona draws on her 19-year experience with the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, first as a staff attorney and then as an Assistant Regional Director with the SEC’s nationwide Market Abuse Unit, based in New York. While with the SEC, Simona leveraged sophisticated data analytics tools to investigate complex insider trading and market manipulation schemes. She also conducted and supervised successful investigations of electronic trade order routing practices, payment-for-order flow arrangements, cherry-picking schemes, broker-dealer and investment adviser compliance programs, issuer disclosures, and offering frauds.
Immediately before joining Sidley, Simona was a managing director with the forensic and litigation consulting practice of a leading global consulting firm, where her practice focused on compliance and operational assessments for regulated entities and on securities and white collar investigations and litigations.
Before her work at the SEC, Simona was a litigation associate at another global law firm in New York and clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Simona is a native Russian speaker. She is also fluent in Lithuanian and proficient in Hebrew.
