MITCHELL NOORDYKE counsels clients to help manage legal risk throughout the data lifecycle and leverages a background in data analytics to find practical solutions for clients in a fast-evolving regulatory environment. He partners with clients to understand their compliance obligations and develop policies and procedures, draft agreement documents to facilitate the flow and use of data, and helps clients assess the privacy and cybersecurity risks inherent in business transactions. Mitchell also counsels clients through cybersecurity incidents and assessments.
Partnering with clients at various phases of their privacy and cybersecurity maturity, Mitchell engages with regulators on behalf of his clients and also helps guide clients through litigation where data and privacy matters are at issue. In particular, Mitchell’s analytics background makes him uniquely positioned to assist clients in assessing their use and deployment of online tracking technologies.
Prior to joining Sidley, Mitchell was a Westin Fellow with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and an associate in the privacy and cybersecurity practice at another law firm. While at the IAPP, he focused his research and writing on legislative developments related to privacy at the state level.
Mitchell is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, with designations for the U.S. (CIPP/US) and EU (CIPP/E), and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). He also earned an M.S. in Business Analytics from the University of Minnesota.
