MADELEINE JOSEPH’s practice focuses on appellate advocacy and critical motions, as well as law-intensive pre-litigation counseling. Maddy assists clients in civil and regulatory litigation, especially cases involving complex questions of administrative law and statutory interpretation. She also works on high-stakes patent litigation in the Federal Circuit and federal district court. Maddy has particular experience representing clients in life sciences industries, including pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, consumer healthcare businesses, and healthcare providers.
Prior to joining the firm, Maddy served as a law clerk to Justice Elena Kagan of the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge Sandra Lynch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and Chief Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Maddy received her law degree from Harvard Law School, where she was the book reviews editor for the Harvard Law Review.
