JAMES CROKE is a partner in the Global Finance group in the Chicago office.
James represents commercial banks, direct lending funds, investment banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, public and private companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He provides legal guidance for these clients in a wide range of financing transactions, including senior secured and unsecured credit facilities, first lien and second lien transactions, syndicated and bi-lateral financings, unitranche financings, mezzanine financings, and cash-flow, asset-based and split-lien transactions, as well as work-outs, restructurings, debtor-in-possession facilities and other distressed financings. James has extensive experience with acquisition financings and other transformative transactions in a broad swathe of deal sizes, from middle market financings, to investment-grade cross-border facilities. In addition, James has experience representing investors and developers in project finance transactions and asset managers in collateralized loan obligation (CLO) securitizations.
James received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He graduated with First Class Honours from the University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Civil Laws.
Prior to joining Sidley, James worked for an international law firm in Chicago.
