Sidley is representing Global Container International (GCI), a leading lessor of marine intermodal containers, in its acquisition by Triton International Limited, the world’s largest lessor of intermodal freight containers, for a total transaction value of over US$1 billion (including outstanding debt). GCI, which has operations worldwide, was established in 2018 by experienced industry executives in partnership with funds managed by Wafra Inc. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
