Sidley partner J. Simone Jones has been selected for the Class of 2024 Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC) Signature Fellows Program. As the region’s premier civic leadership development program, LGC immerses its fellows in the major socioeconomic issues facing the community, allowing them to build connections to facilitate solutions. Selection into the LGC Signature Fellows Program is based on a record of professional accomplishment, evidence of leadership skills, the potential to influence positive change, and a commitment to the region.
Simone is an environmental lawyer whose practice includes defending clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation and product liability matters, and representing corporations and executives in internal and criminal investigations. As one of the leaders of Sidley’s Environmental Justice group, Simone advises and defends leading companies on environmental justice and other social justice issues.
Simone maintains an active pro bono practice and was honored with the award for “Excellence in Pro Bono Service” by the judges of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Within Sidley, she has also received the “Thomas H. Morsch Award for Pro Bono Achievement” and the “Vincent F. Prada Pro Bono Award.”
