Sidley represented Alkermes plc (NASDAQ: ALKS) in its successful proxy contest against activist hedge fund Sarissa Capital. All incumbent directors were elected to the board at the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. By target company market capitalization, it was one of the five largest proxy contests of a U.S.-listed company to go to a vote during the 2023 proxy season and the only contest where an activist did not win a board seat.
