Sidley senior counsel Terry Hynes has joined the Executive Committee of the U.S. High Speed Rail Coalition (USHSR). The purpose of this Coalition is to help advance the high-speed rail industry in America and bolster the development of a state-of-the-art passenger rail network.
A strong advocate for regulatory reforms designed to strengthen investments in this sector, Terry has been at the forefront of the development of U.S. high-speed passenger rail service and serves as counsel to privately owned, high-speed rail projects nationwide. USHSR President Andy Kunz stated: “On behalf of the Coalition and the entire Association, we’re proud to welcome Terry to the Executive Committee,” continuing that “Sidley Austin is helping to lead the way for high-speed rail development in America and has the expertise to navigate the many legal challenges delivering large, complex infrastructure projects.”
Sharing his gratitude for the opportunity, Terry said, “A robust high-speed passenger rail network will improve mobility between America’s cities, reduce highway congestion, drive business development, and enhance our environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I look forward to working with Andy and the Coalition to promote the creation of this much-needed infrastructure.”
