London – Sidley is pleased to announce that Ben Thompson has joined Sidley’s Global Finance practice in London focused on energy and infrastructure.
Ben is Sidley’s third partner to join our London Energy and Infrastructure team in the last year. James MacArthur and Ed Freeman joined in the spring of last year as part of a six-lawyer team from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Mr. Thompson has a well-established practice focusing on energy and infrastructure financing, advising PE Infrastructure sponsors as well as banks, direct lenders, and noteholders across the full range of infrastructure finance transactions. He joins Sidley from Travers Smith where he was a partner in the Finance group and Infrastructure Sector group and, prior to that, part of the Private Equity Infrastructure team at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Mr. Thompson has advised clients on financings across the range of infrastructure assets, including energy and energy transition, digital infrastructure, transportation, and social infrastructure.
