On June 14, more than 80 firm lawyers and summer associates participated in the New York office’s sixth annual Sidley Service Day. Each year, our Corporate Responsibility and Summer Associate programs organize this day-long, community-service volunteer event in conjunction with New York Cares, New York City’s premier non-profit organization for bringing volunteer support services to non-profit agencies, public schools and other organizations. This year, the Sidley volunteers worked to improve the appearance and functionality of an elementary school, PS 21 K Crispus Attucks, by helping to process and organize books for the school library, painting the school fence, donating and building four new storage units, and organizing their contents, and painting new indoor and outdoor school murals. In honor of Sidley’s 150th anniversary and commitment to New York City school reading programs, the firm also donated a significant number of new books to the school library.
