| Project Description | Kakoa is a production and processing company which purchases cocoa beans from Indonesian smallholder farmers to produce chocolate. Kakoa has been improving the incomes and livelihoods of smallholder farmers by purchasing cocoa beans at a price that is higher than the market rate. In addition, the company provides farm equipment as well as training for farmers on methods to improve production, increase incomes and combat pest related diseases.
