Sidley partner Justin Savage was a guest on the podcast Drinks with The Deal, a series that covers M&A, activist investing, private equity, and restructuring. Environmental concerns, particularly climate change, are becoming top-of-mind considerations in M&A and governance, as evidenced by companies such as BlackRock and State Street becoming outspoken proponents. Justin discussed the impact on organizations as well as the increased focus on ESG and environmental justice. He also addressed the Biden administration’s emphasis on enforcement and rulemaking to address climate change and what companies need to consider moving forward. Justin co-chairs Sidley’s Environmental practice and Automotive and Mobility practice. He also is a former senior governmental official at the Department of Justice.
