BRIAN TOBIN is an experienced litigator that focuses on complex commercial disputes and defense of consumer class action claims, in particular claims brought under state privacy laws, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Brian counsels clients on litigation avoidance and manages litigation matters from inception through appeal, including substantial experience managing discovery and conducting argument before state and federal trial courts. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, including inmate civil rights litigation and capital post-conviction litigation through the Capital Litigation Project. Brian is a 2018 recipient of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois’ Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service.
Brian received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering. During law school, he was active in clinical programs focused on criminal post-conviction and environmental litigation. Prior to law school, Brian worked as an internal business consultant and operations manager.
