ROY SMITH represents a wide array of investment management, private investment fund and other financial services companies. He focuses on the establishment and ongoing management of a variety of private investment vehicles, including hedge funds, real estate funds and private equity funds. Roy also counsels registered investment advisers and other financial institutions.
In addition, Roy represents investment management firms in connection with both acquisition transactions and regulatory compliance. He also counsels clients in connection with mergers, reorganization transactions and other corporate-related matters.
Roy is recommended in The Legal 500 US 2016 for Investment Fund Formation and Management: Alternative/Hedge Funds. He was also featured in a thought leadership piece published by Privcap in 2016 and was the recipient of the Civil Rights Pro Bono Recognition Award from the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in 2013.
