LAUREN KEANE focuses her practice on complex civil litigation disputes, products liability, and class action defense matters in state and federal trial courts across the United States.
Lauren advises clients at all stages of the litigation process. She has played key roles in the development of defense strategy and has briefed successful dispositive motions in both state and federal courts. She also has experience in fact development and discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, in addition to preparing company witnesses for depositions. In addition, Lauren maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented pro bono clients in a variety of cases in federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Lauren graduated summa cum laude from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she received the Founders Award for attaining the highest cumulative average. While in law school, she served as the executive editor of student articles of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal. Lauren graduated cum laude from College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in History, and double minors in French and Visual Arts.
Prior to re-joining Sidley, Lauren clerked for the Honorable Sara L. Ellis of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Before attending law school, Lauren worked for a global media firm, assisting Fortune 500 companies with their digital advertising campaigns. Lauren is also a member of Legal Aid Chicago’s Ambassadors Board that supports the mission and programmatic work of Legal Aid Chicago.
