KIM JOHNSON focuses her practice on food, drug, and medical device regulatory and compliance matters. Prior to joining Sidley, Kim clerked for the Honorable Robert W. Gettleman of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois from 2022−2024.
Kim received her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School with honors in 2022. During this time, Kim served as comments editor of The University of Chicago Legal Forum, and as a legal extern to the Honorable Young B. Kim of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While at the University of Chicago, Kim received a certification from the Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy. Kim was a recipient of the “George Bugbee Advocacy Award” for outstanding commitment to the program.
Prior to law school, Kim worked as a research assistant at the Center for Neurobehavioral Research at Boystown National Research Hospital. The Center for Neurobehavioral Research conducted longitudinal research studies using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to evaluate behavioral and mental health disorders in juveniles.
Kim received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis, with a B.A. in psychological and brain sciences and minor in biology. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, as well as a captain of both the Washington University varsity cross country and track teams.
