HIROKO ITO focuses her practice on global finance. She is a member of SidleyWomen.
Prior to joining Sidley, Hiroko was a finance associate at an international law firm in Sydney, Australia. While there, she represented financial institutions, borrowers, sponsors, and government authorities in a variety of financing transactions, and advised Japanese companies, financial institutions, and investors on their cross-border investments and ventures. Hiroko also undertook a secondment at an Australian global investment management firm as a fund consultant.
Hiroko was also a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Tokyo and the Embassy of Japan in Canberra, Australia, as well as a sustainable investment associate at an Australian non-bank lending and alternative asset management firm, where she was responsible for developing innovative sustainable finance strategies and products.
Hiroko is fluent in Japanese and proficient in Russian and French.
