ALYSSA HARTLEY is an associate in the firm’s Washington D.C. office, where she focuses her practices on white collar and commercial litigation. Alyssa earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was a Bass Military Scholar, and her B.A. in International Relations and Foreign Policy from Boston University.
Alyssa has experience advising public and private companies and their executives facing government enforcement actions and complex commercial litigation. Alyssa assists companies with internal investigations, risk assessments, and compliance counseling. She helps clients with challenging cross-border and multijurisdictional issues, including complex, high-stakes matters that involve the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and other federal agencies and state attorneys general. She has represented clients in a variety of sectors, including those in the healthcare, biotechnology, energy, financial, healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, and technology industries.
Alyssa has extensive experience working on matters that involve allegations related to fraud and corruption, including responding to government inquiries, conducting sensitive internal investigations, advising on crisis management, handling whistleblower allegations, and conducting compliance reviews. She has experience with counseling across the spectrum of U.S. laws related to fraud and corruption, including the False Claims Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Alyssa is also an experienced pilot and has been flying for over 15 years. Prior to attending law school, Alyssa served for over 10 years as a pilot for the U.S. Navy during which she deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
